ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A 16-year-old lion has died at the Abilene Zoo.
Saba, an African Lion, was euthanized Wednesday, two days after a veterinary visit for lethargy and a decrease in appetite. Zookeepers said in a statement the lion had become lethargic, with a loss of appetite, resulting in a "rapid decline of her quality of life."
The leader of Klassik Nation, DON SANTO posted a message saying "It is a sad moment for Klassikans and the entire world for losing such a young and vibrant young lion. As the King of African Lions I believe we can not only use Saba's name to write news but be part of a difference like to eliminate porching."
