Like other artistes, Kingpheezle began singing while he was quite young, adopting this name while in high school, due to his enormous singing talent that made him represent his school several times in singing competitions.
In 2004, with Akon as his inspiration, he ditched his previous dream of becoming a footballer for music.
However, he had to wait for four years before he would set foot in a studio courtesy of comedian Alphonse Makokha’s Zuka Records.
But this was only the beginning, as he had to wait for another year before recording a single track, a fact that never dimmed his hopes.
In 2012, he recorded his first mixed tape, “Strayed Oct. 2”, which consisted of 12 tracks.
“It did quite well as I received positive feedback from fans after publishing some songs on YouTube,” he says.
